Easter is in the air

I would say Spring is in the air but it is quite the opposite, so I will say Easter. I even wore shorts to summon spring, but it still turned out to be winter weather. Nonetheless we still had the Easter egg hunt outside. It was quite the event. Axel loved hunting eggs...okay I will revise that and say he loved playing with the branches he found on the lawn better. We found all of his eggs and made him endure a couple of pictures. I've trained him well though cause whenever I hold up the camera he breaks out into a grin. But I know the real reason for the season is not egg hunting in the snow, but rather our Savior. And it is indeed all because of Him and His sacrifice that I can share these cherished moments with my family.

The Best Two Years

April 6, 2007 -April 6, 2009
Celebrating Two Years
It's pretty much a given that these past two years have been the best ever.
Maybe it's the fact that we are both goobers that makes us love the simple things
and have so much fun together. Or maybe it is the fact that we are both
best friends. All I know is not a day has gone by that we haven't shared a laugh,
a kiss, and an "I love you!" There's me being sentimental on you all.
Bottom line is we love marriage and each others guts.
Spencer W. Kimball put it perfectly into words when he said,
"Marriage can be more an exulted ecstacy than the human mind can conceive.
While marriage can be difficult and frustrations common,
a real-lasting happy marriage is possible.
Marriage isn't perfect, it's celestial."
So, we went to Texas Roadhouse for some steak and potatoes. :) They even gave us a free dessert which is always freaking awesome. What a great event to celebrate with your significant other. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be right now than with Eli and Axel, ridiculously poor equally ridiculously happy.

Like father like son

I thought I would show everyone simply one very apparent way Axel is just like his daddy. I'm sure there was a better way to post those two pics together but I chose the ghetto way of just taking a picture of them both. :) It cracks me up every time I see them both togther being goobers with their tongues hanging out. I just think it is so cute. This merely skims the surface of Axel's shared characteristics...he likewise has a freakishly sensitive gag reflex, always gagging and throwing up over the littlest things. I always hear Eli likewise gagging when he empties the sink drain with bits of soggy food or when he brushes his teeth sometimes. Axel also loves watching the previews and beginning of movies..he's glued to the TV after the FBI warning on every movie, just like his Dad :) Once Eli got pulled over for speeding on the way to the theater just because he didn't want to miss the previews. Just a glimpse into a few similarities. It seems like more just keep presenting themselves each day. I love both my boys!

Axel is showing off his two bottom teeth. I'm
anxious to see which teeth are coming in next
cause he has been such a beast with blowouts,
loss of appetite, snotty nose, oneriness, and the
whole bit. This was a rare occasion he actually
ate, and was smiling about it. He loves his squash
and Hubbard potatoes! Oh and jelly beans...he
got a hold of a plastic egg full of huge jelly beans
and those robin eggs. I hear Eli, "Um is he
supposed to be eating those?" I look down and
he has gotten that plastic egg open and is shoveling
those jelly beans and robin eggs into his mouth as fast
as he can. He just looks up at me as I am removing them
from his mouth with a look like, "thanks for
ruining all the fun mom!" He had dark purple all over his
tongue for a while afterwards as evidence of
his little escapade.
