A Winter Bonfire

We've been cooped up in the house too long, so Brandon and his new girlfriend Marlee planned for us to go with them to the ice caves and have a bonfire. Apparently, however, the ice caves are closed during the winter time...seriously I mean come on it couldn't be treacherous or anything right? ;) It gets pretty slippery in the summertime, so I could only imagine. We were disappointed but decided to do a bonfire instead up by R mountain. The upside is we got to take Axel with us. I have to explain something about Rexburg, they only sell snow boots from size 7 and up. Really? Well, except Payless and they conveniently sell Axel's size for a mere $40. No thanks. So, we made do with what we had..which was....his shoes, and plastic bags over them. But when we got there it was colder than we thought, so I found a random pair of Eli's socks in the truck and we put them over his shoes then the plastic bags. It was pretty redneck. To make it worse the other couple there thought he only had on socks the whole time. What kind of parents they must have thought we were. So, yes he did have his shoes on under those huge socks.
Regardless, Axel had fun and so did we.

All the fam.

Aaah -sigh-Best Fwiends Forever! sniff sniff. Really though, Brandon is one of a kind. He has always been there for Eli. Friends like that don't come along everyday. Okay sentimental moment over...moving on.

Pretty sure that is the same expression he had on his face during the whole four wheeler ride.

And here they are...snowboots...redneck style.
