Good News!

We found out that Grady's crp test came back a little lower. We were so glad to hear that, let me tell you. The fluid in his head was a little greater however and they decided that the best thing to do was to go ahead and perform the surgury to remove it. They just finished the opporation and it was a big success. Now we just need the antibiotic to finish it's job so we can go home! I wanted to thank everyone that fasted and prayed and thought about us. We owe you so much!

Fast for Grady

Ok. In case everyone doesn't know, we are now at Primary Children's Hospital in SLC. They found out that Grady still has a little fluid accumulating in the frontal lobe of his brain. They perform crp tests to see the level of infection. If the crp is low then that means the infection is going away, if not then they will have to surgically remove the fluid. So, since tommorrow is fast Sunday, we are having a fast for him. Tommorow we will find out if they will perform surgury or not so if you could again remember us in your prayers and if you would like to fast as well we would appreciate that also. Thank you so much for all you have done for us.

Worst First Christmas

Well, this christmas I have to admit was the worst day of our lives. Grady was life flighted to Portneuf Hospital with bacterial meningitis. He seems to be stable but not quite out of the woods. So, if you would keep him in your prayers and we will keep you posted.

New baby Grady is Here!!!

Well the day has finally come and we've added a new member to the Hubbard household! Grady Mack Hubbard was born on October 23 2010. He weighed in 7lbs 3oz and is 19inches long. I must say that the timing of his coming was actually pretty good. This past Wednesday we decided to go out on one last date before we became limited. So we went and watched Inception, which was excellent by the way. Then we moved our own Halloween party from Saturday to Friday so Brandon and Marlee could make it. We played the Farming game until 11:00 then talked until 12. Then at 2 in the morning I remember this voice swimming towards me through a strange fog. "Ellliii...Ellliiiiii...MY WATER BROKE!!" Suddenly I was awake and in a state of denial. We had just gone to the doctors office that day and there was no sign of birth on the way. But water doesn't lie, especially when it is breaking. Does that even make sense? Oh well it sounds pretty good. So here are some pics after it was all over.

Here he is! Right after the nurse rubbed him down and had him weighed.

When we brought Axel in to see him he just walked over and stretched out his arms asking to hold him. So we took a few pics. Lets hope he keeps up this attitude of good will when we bring him home!

Velvet wanted to hold him with a provocative look, or is it a stay away look. Hmm, I can't tell. Oh well.

And last of all we have the little guy with his dad. What a touching sight!

Halloween Party

Well it is time for another update. Now I know what you're thinking. "man those Hubbards are some lazy sacks! They update every year or so." Well I won't argue that point with you cause the truth is that we are lazy sacks but in our defense we don't have the Internet at our house. Gasp! Dun dun dun! NO INTERNET? you ask. How is that possible? Can those words even be used in a sentence that way? Well the answer is yes. You see we didn't see the point in getting the Internet since we most likely are not going to be here in St. Anthony for that long. and since I have the Internet at work I can do everything we need. At this point you are wondering who in the heck is typing, well it's me...Eli! Gasp! Dun, dun, dun. Yes the plot thickens as you realize that I am updating the blog. Well I told Velvet that I would since she is about ready to pop with a baby soon and would rather die than update the blog. So I thought that I would regale you with my rapist wit. To begin with I thought I would start with a little fashion show. You see we went over to My sister Samatha's house for a little Halloween party. Sounds like fun, you say. Well get ready to witness the best costumes your eyes have ever beheld. If you are female, be cautioned cause you may not be satisfied with your husbands again after seeing Velvets costume and the same goes for you males and my costume. Of course if you are male maybe you shouldn't be checking out blogs. Shouldn't you be out shooting something, or building something, you know...something manly. Well I am updating it so we'll just rip off a piece of chest hair and call her good. Now the first pic explains our theme for this year.. the people of Walmart!
Notice the Look on Axel's face! "Who the crap are you and why are you doing this to me?"

Don't hate me cause you aint me!

Move over Justin, cause Vel is Bringing Sexy Back. Rarrrrrrr!

As you can see we pretty much rock the world of fashion. We couldn't think of what to be for Halloween so I got online and looked up pregnancy ideas for costumes. One of them was being a drunk with a beer belly. So Velvet was a lazy trucker, I'm her Ho, and Axel is our illegitimate child. I'm thinking of sending in my pic as a P90X after photo. I can see my headline now! "Not only will you see the pounds fly but it will change your sex!" Well maybe that isn't such a good idea after all. It might sell in California though. (No offense to people in California reading this)
We went all out as you can see. We cut off some of my wig and taped it onto Axel's head (he freaked out by the way) for his mullet, and doesn't it look so good. Velvet even did my makeup, which of course I have never worn before...ever. (I expect Meagan, Megan, Katie, Brandice, Krista, Alicia and of course my own Velvet, to keep their mouths shut if they know what's good for them!) Featured below is Samatha and Doug as Dracula and uh.... Lord of the Rings wife? Actually I really don't know if there was a correlation in their costumes. Then Abby was there as Jane air (yeah I know it is not spelled that way but I can't spell it any other way that looks right to me), then we have Holly and Tason Lewis my cousin and her husband dressed up as punk rockers.

All in all we had a really good time. We played games and watched a scary movie. Everything that a good Halloween party needs. Well that is all that I have to say today. There is other things to report on I'm sure but I can't think of them so with that I will leave these images burning in your mind and bid you adieu.

The Catch Up

So, I'll just come right out and say this blog entry is going to be random. The pictures are not in the right order and my back hurts and frankly I am too lazy to try to move them because it is a pain in the butt. So, I'll just explain what has been going on the last couple months in a random order.
First off, we took a harley trip with Niel and Lisa, and Jarom and Melissa, and all the kids to Bear Tooth. The boys took the harleys and the girls and kids were in the rig. This is one of the views we saw from our hotel room. It was beautiful. Another view we got was a huge herd of buffalo coming through town right in the backyard of our hotel. It was wild...literally ha ha get it wild buffalo...do you get it :) just kidding. Anyways here's the happy harley family. P.S. did I mention that Axel is obsessed with motorcycles. He'll cry and cry if someone leaves without him on a motorcycle, especially Dad, or Grandpa.

This one is us moving out of Wagon Wheel Apartments after two years and moving out of Rexburg after over 3 years. Just 10 minutes north to St. Anthony but moving nonetheless. Eli got a job with Fremont County. Just temporary cause soon we will be off to grad school but that is for another blog when we know for sure. So, these are our neighbors, the Baugh's, our sister Sam, and Eli and me, the fat lady! Needless to say I was a ton of help.
This is our new house we are renting in St. Anthony. Dad's on the porch, my nephews Pacen and Braxton are on the sidewalk and Arthur Yuan our other fantastic neighbor helping us move is in the shadows of the doorway and Aaron May, our other-other fantastic neighbor is by the tree. It was a lot easier move thanks to everyone who helped, rather than our move to Wagon wheel where the moving crew consisted of Eli, Sam, Mariah, Mom, and me 8 months prego...so I was a ton of help then too. Eli wanted to write a book called the power of 4 women and one man. ha ha

That is quite the load but we got it all in one shot. :)

This is Axel's Two year mark. He got Woody and Buzz and was so excited. He loves Toy Story and playing with cars, so he also fell in love with his new race track he got. sniff sniff my little boy is growing up.

This is our annual girl party. We ate at Texas Roadhouse and then went to a movie, which even included Mariah taking surprise pictures of everyone while they were on the pot...aka on the toilet not on pot as in marijiana. We are crazy enough without that stuff. :) What a gorgeous bunch of women we are.
A random pic of Axel doing his airplane impression noise and all. He makes this face a lot!

This is Axel's birthday cake. They are cupcakes and I was pretty proud of making it for the first time all by myself. They were tasty.

Here we are...the young lovers. ha ha This is back on our bear tooth trip. It was a great time.

This is on the trip. The view is from the top of Bear Tooth Pass. Axel was not a happy camper most of the trip. A combo of teething and the terrible two's I guess. But luckily we had the toy story movies in the rig and so driving he was okay.

This is at the cody wyoming dam. It gave my stomach a turn looking straight down...or was that Grady...either way my stomach was doing flip flops.
And it wouldn't be summer without all the family pictures. This is my family picture but it is really blurry on the blog. It did turn out much better than it looks. You can even click on it to make it bigger to see the details of how good-looking we all are. :)

And this is a closeup of how well the Hubbard family pics turned out. Looks like Axel likes pictures as much as Eli does but Eli can't outwardly show it like Axel does.

This is the view from Chief Joseph Highway. I rode the harley with Eli up the mountain with tons of switchbacks. It was gorgeous.

And the final picture is Axel and his true love...the Harley. He will push Niel's leg and say "Go, go" and point to the harley. He will even grab his hands to put them on the steering wheel if they try to just sit him on the bike instead of an official ride. Grandpa took him for a ride then made the mistake of driving away without Axel at his birthday party. Axel ran after him heartbroken and sobbing. It was sad. But he forgot about it when we lit his candles to blow out on the cake. What a goober.
So, until next time....which could be a while.....

The Update

Okay, so I realize I have been off the blog wagon for a long time...and I mean a LONG time so I've just decided to do a nice big update post. So, this has a little bit of everything. Of course, you would have to know the few months I don't blog, the most happens. First and foremost, we found out that we are having another BOY!! Horray for me and my house full of boys! Speaking of Hubbard boys, Alex left on his mission to Phoenix, Arizona. Here are some pics of the boy leaving for the mission.

The Proud and Shocked-at-his-decision-to-go-on-a-mission Parents

Alex's Dinner Choice: Steak and Potatoes what else?
Sam and her boys
Melissa, Abby, and the kids

BEST BROS FOREVER!!!

Niel, Looking extremely happy to be there!

Lora and Dave, a classic inside look at their outgoing personalities.

All the fam went to the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a great session.
The guys outside the temple...I'm shocked I got them to actually pose for a picture.

Our final goodbyes..for two whole years...sniff sniff!

We went home to Grace to help plant spuds. Here we are: the happy couple at our best, dirty and embracing our roots...this is after all where our love story all began....sniff sniff...:)

Axel and I went and rode the tractor with Eli. It was a good time. It actually put Axel right to sleep for most of it. He liked it though. Good times.

Oh yeah, P.S. Eli graduated BYU-Idaho with his bachelor's degree. I guess it doesn't seem real because he still hasn't gotten his diploma. Don't worry, we got an email saying he still needs two classes. What a bunch of bull. His advisor went to straighten things out and now we are just waiting...and waiting....and waiting....for the department to look at the case. Someday maybe we will actually get the piece of paper that represents years and years of tears, sweat, and lots of money...just one lousy piece of paper....

Yeah, so needless to say that diploma holder is empty...and yet Eli looks so happy to be there...and this is after 5 hours of speakers and prayers, and more speakers and prayers...good ole graduation times.
As you may be able to guess, it was our anniversary. Yep the big 3 years...so we're pretty much experts by now. :) This was my gift to Eli, since we were "rolling in the dough" yeah if you can't tell that is heart shaped sausage and eggs. I took the picture for your viewing pleasure..and cause I was kinda proud that it actually resembled a heart...(the writing is ketchup..I'm awesome I know)
